Prelimenary Task

We discussed what our prelimenary task should be. Anna had the idea of a maffia type conversation. For the task we have to have two characters with one walking into a room to another person seating down. They then share a short conversation. Although we did like this idea we felt it would be better to go with a more simplistic storyline so we could focus on the shots and effects. We want the film to be good because of the quality of the filming not what is actually going on. We have now going to use the idea of two friends talking with each other in school but one is 'cool' and just uses the other 'loser' girl to her advantage.

Media Coursework

Today we decided to change the genre of our main task. Originally it was going to be horror but after coming up with a location and story fo the opening we thought it would be difficult to make the film scary. Even though the genre of horror would be really good we want our film to be good. So, we decided to go with a teen/comedy film as we felt confident in what we could achieve. Here we discussed what actors we could use and where we would film it. We all envisioned what the film would be like and we all had a similar outlook.

In today's lesson my group and I discussed our main task. We decided what genre we would do and then came up with a basic storyline. We done this so we had an idea of what we were working towards and we had a basic understanding of what we were doing. We now have 2 possible locations and number of characters we need. We have also discussed the types of setting we want and shots so we know what to do next week.
Next lesson we will hopefully create a storyboard so we can therefore decide which shots we can use afterwards.

Ideas!

In today's lesson we have been discussing ideas for both the main task and prelimenary. At the moment we want to get an overall idea for both films instead of focusing on one in particular. We want as much time to work on each film and think when we come to focusing on a each film it will be quicker and easier to fill out the idea. We discussed which genres we want to do and how long we will need for each film task. For our main task we want to do 'horror' because we think it would be quite fun to do and would be a challenge too.
